How do I sign up for the Payroll 50/50?

You can sign up with your company payroll department.

What are the ticket price options to participate?

Ticket prices (bi-weekly): 

• 3 tickets for $10

• 10 tickets for $20

• 50 tickets for $40

 

I have already enrolled in the Payroll 50/50. Do I have to enroll every time registration opens?

No, you do not need to continuously enroll! Once enrolled you are in the program until you cancel your participation .

How do I opt out?

To cancel your participation in the Payroll 50/50 going forward, you must cancel with your payroll administrator at least two weeks prior to the draw date. You can cancel at any time.

 

How can I change my existing order?

Contact your company payroll to change existing order.

 

How and when are winners selected?

Draws will be done through the service provider, Ascend, using a random number generator, approved by LGCA. One winner will be drawn on the Thursday, following paydays, at 2:00 pm (to be confirmed), in the office of the Brandon Wheat King Foundation.

 

What are the sign up dates?

Enrollment is offered quarterly for 2026. Upcoming enrollment dates:

• January 5, 2026

• March 5, 2026

• June 5, 2026

• September 5, 2026

 

Upcoming draw dates:

One winner will be drawn every second Thursday at 12:00 p.m. beginning January 23, 2026, at 2404 Park Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba.

 

How will I know if I’ve won?

Winners will be posted on BWK Foundation website and the BWK Foundation will contact you via email.

 

Who is eligible?

The Brandon Wheat King Foundation Employee Lottery is currently available to the following companies: J & G Group of Companies, Vionell Holdings, Rotary Villas, Genesis.

 

I just enrolled in the Payroll 50/50. When am I eligible to win?

For those who registered during the period first quarter start date of December 15, 2025  the first deduction will come off your   December 18th, 2025 pay cheque. Your first draw you are eligible for is December 24, 2025.

 

How big will the prize pot be?

The jackpot will be a minimum of $1000.  Pot size will be based  on # of tickets purchased. Winner takes half. Please note that the jackpot will fluctuate with number of enrollments and cancellations.

I signed up for my company BWKF Payroll 50/50, why is my subscription still listed as ‘pending’?

Your subscription for the Brandon Wheat King Foundation Employee Lottery will remain pending until the enrollment period closes.

 

What happens if I quit and am no longer an employee, but want to continue to participate?

Unfortunately, you may only participate in the Brandon Wheat King Foundation Employee Lottery if you are a current employee with participating companies.  Please contact the BWK Foundation for any further questions.  Executive Director Robbie Zetariuk at Robbie@bwkfoundation.ca

Do I receive a charitable receipt?

No, there are no tax receipts issued, and the ticket is not tax deductible.

Where do proceeds go?

Proceeds support both the Brandon Wheat Kings Foundation scholastic and youth athletic programs for Brandon and surrounding communities.

Can I win the 50/50 draw again if I have already won?

Yes, it is possible to win every two weeks multiple times since draws are done on new tickets through the Payroll 50/50 lottery service provider, Funding Change, using a random LGCA-approved number generator. While the same ticket number cannot win multiple times, the same person can win multiple times.
 

How do I check if I am a current employee of listed companies?

Look for the employer name on your remuneration statement.

Payroll 50/50 Draw Rules 

This is a 50/50 payroll draw (LGCA Licence No. [NTD: to be confirmed]).

Fifty percent (50%) of the total proceeds will be awarded to the winner, and fifty percent (50%) will support the Brandon Wheat Kings Foundation (the “BWK Foundation”), which provides financial support for education, athletics, and coaching programs in Brandon and surrounding communities.
