This past Sunday, November 2, 2025 the Brandon Wheat Kings Foundation was proud to partner with Westman Immigrant Services and the Brandon Wheat Kings to welcome 526 “New to Canada” family members to the Wheat Kings Family Game, many attending their very first hockey game.
For our Foundation, this night was about more than hockey. It was about belonging.
We believe that every child, regardless of where they come from, deserves access to sport, education, and the sense of community that hockey in Brandon brings. By working together, we’re proud to create opportunities that educate, elevate, and empower the next generation.
WHY IT MATTERS
Hockey has long been part of our city’s identity, but it’s about more than goals and games. It’s about creating a welcoming space where families can connect, children can dream, and everyone feels like they’re part of something bigger.
This initiative reflects our mission:
To empower young athletes through education, training, and facility development, ensuring every player, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed on and off the ice.
And it brings to life our vision:
To be a leading charitable organization in Manitoba that strengthens communities, removes barriers in sport, and builds futures through education and hockey development.
With your support, we’re building a future that’s rooted in legacy and focused on what’s next.
Thank you to our partners, sponsors, and community supporters for helping us continue this work. Together, we’re making a difference, one game, one family, one child at a time.
